Marc Savlov

Marc Savlov has been writing about film, music, media and art for the Austin Chronicle since 1999, focusing mainly on film criticism. He used to go out with Warren Oates' daughter, but that's all over now, baby blue. These days he pretty much lives at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, thriving on a steady diet of fantastic filmmaking and Shiner Bock. He believes Roman Polanski got a raw deal, Udo Kier is a g**d*** genius, and American International Pictures was the best thing to ever come out of America, period. He wears classic black Chuck Taylor hi-tops and tends to strut a bit after seeing a truly great film. He digs Guy Debord's style, Vampira's measurements, and Joy Division. He tips his hat to the late, great Forrest J. Ackerman. His motto is "Vivre sans temps mort" and no matter what you think, he cannot be defeated by traditional means.
